The Fine Art
and Paintings of Andre Kouznetsov
Born in Vishney Volochok, Russia, May 18, 1959 – to Nikolai
Ivanovich and Angelina Serov, Andre Kouznetsov was an artist from his youth. In the Soviet
Union talented youngsters were selected for specialized schooling, which for Kouznetsov extended from prep school to University.
Following a
program in theater arts, Kouznetsov successfully auditioned for the world
renowned St. Petersburg Academy of Art where he studied every high art form for
2 years.
After his
schooling, Kouznetsov’s career in art kicked off during mandatory service in the
Soviet Army. Artistic talent was as ‘fortune’ following the conscript, for
instead of serving in a frozen Siberian, he was stationed
in the city of art,
St. Petersburg ,
where
Kouznetsov’s Army assignment was painting military subjects and murals for
the USSR.
Fortune stepped in again with
Perestroika in 1991, resulting in Kouznetsov's open door to the
west. He arrived in New York City's Green Point, Brooklyn,
in July of 1993 and set at once to learn the painting crafts
from the Eastern European specialists who had arrived before
him.
A freindship with an active
duty soldier/ and artist, SGT Bingham, led Kouznetsov to
Washington DC in 1995, where they married and in 1997, began a
Studio of Art naming it -Buon Fresco - after their mutual
affinity for Italian design.
Kouznetsov went on to make a
name for himself with murals, while his fine art found its place
in shows and galleries around Washington DC, Maryland and
Virginia, winning him the loyalty and admiration of a venerable
clientele
